Wyoming Weekly Unemployment Application

The U.S. economy is struggling and many workers are unemployed. However, the federal government does offer weekly unemployment insurance to workers who become unemployed due to reasons beyond their control. In Wyoming, the Department of Workforce Services allows the unemployed to file initial claims and weekly unemployment claims online.

Filing a New Claim Online

To file an initial unemployment claim in Wyoming, you must log on to the Department of Workforce Services website. You must create a user account by selecting a user name and a password. Before you begin the application, make sure that you have the following information:

  • Your social security number
  • Your name, phone number and address
  • Driver's license number
  • The starting and ending dates of all employment you held in the past 18 months
  • Name, phone number and address for each employer you worked for within the last 18 months

The website is user-friendly, and the application takes approximately 30 minutes. The questions are mostly related to your job history. If you have questions about the application process or about an unemployment weekly claim, call (307) 473-3789.

Filing a Weekly Claim for Unemployment

After you have completed your application for unemployment insurance, you will be notified of the status of your claim via mail. If you are eligible for benefits, you must re-certify for unemployment each week that you remain unemployed. In Wyoming, the re-certification process is generally faster than the initial application process. To re-certify, go to the Department of Workforce Services website. You must answer only a few questions about your weekly job search and your work status.

In Wyoming, you may receive unemployment for only a limited amount of weeks. However, because of the current state of the U.S. economy, Obama has allotted an extension on the number of weeks unemployed workers may claim weekly unemployment insurance. For additional information about job services or your weekly unemployment claim, call the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services at (307) 473-3789.
