Utah Online Unemployment

When people are unemployed or earning much less than they had in the past, making ends meet becomes highly difficult. The answer for this tough situation can be Utah’s unemployment insurance benefits for those who qualify. Beginning the process of Utah’s online unemployment filing isn’t any harder than what people usually do when they go online, but they must have all of the relevant documents on hand.

In order to file for Utah unemployment online, people who have lost their jobs or have gone from full-time to part-time employment must navigate to the website of the Utah Department of Workforce Services Unemployment Insurance Claim Filing. They are going to have to give several pieces of information including:

  1. Their social security numbers,
  2. The names of their previous employers and the dates they worked for them since April 1, 2010,
  3. If they work through a union, the name and number of the union,
  4. If relevant, their Utah driver’s license number or Utah identification number,
  5. For those legally residing in the country, their alien registration numbers.

People who are currently not living in the state of Utah, may not apply for Utah unemployment services online or in any other way.

When people begin the process, they will be taken to four different sections where they will need to enter their information. The first section asks for their personal information, the second section gives them a chance to input their employers’ information, the third section is about an applicant’s eligibility for employment and the fourth section will explain everything people need to know to comply with Utah unemployment service online rules.

People will have a time limit of 20 minutes to finish each page, so they must have all of their information ready to be typed into each section before they begin. Once they are ready, they can begin the process any day of the week starting at 2:00 in the morning until 11:45 p.m. that same day. People can expect it to take a half hour for them to enter all of their information in the four sections.

After submitting their applications online, the Utah Department of Workforce Services Unemployment Insurance Claim Filing may inform them that they need more information in order to determine eligibility. They will be given a number of the form they will need to fill out, which will be mailed to the Unemployment Insurance office at:
