Using the unemployment online claim system you can file a new application, claim a week of benefits, restart a claim, check the status of your claim, apply for direct deposit, change your address, reset your PIN number, and view your 1099G tax information. The Oregon online unemployment claims system is unavailable from 12:30AM to 2:00AM each night due to system maintenance. There is also a scheduled downtime for unemployment service online the second Sunday of each month from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. New claims for unemployment online cannot be filed week days from 10:00PM until 2:00AM, Saturday from 8:00PM until Sunday at 2:00AM, and from Sunday at 8:30PM until Monday at 5:00AM. Weekly claims completed on Sunday and Monday are processed Monday evening. If Monday is a holiday, claims will be processed Tuesday evening.

To file a new application for unemployment online you will need to have some information ready. You will need to know your Social Security Number, your work history for the last 18 months including dates of employment, your employer's business names, addresses, and phone numbers, your salary and total income for at least the last year from each employer, and a phone number where you can be reached during normal business hours. If you are not a citizen of the United States you will also need your Alien Registration Number and documentation. In the case of some complex claims you may not be able to complete your application online and may need to contact an Unemployment Insurance Center to file, but the majority of claims can be handled by the online unemployment claim system.

The Oregon Employment Department offers two payment options, direct deposit and ReliaCard. If you choose not to apply for direct deposit to your own bank by the time your first benefit payment is due you will automatically be enrolled for a ReliaCard Visa debit account.
