Michigan Unemployment Services are Offered Online

Disappointing labor data has recently been released by state officials in Michigan. The number of jobless is rising. The Unemployment Insurance Agency provides unemployment services to workers who are out of work as a result of circumstances that are no fault of their own. Their customer service line is available at 800-638-3994, but their online unemployment service is the recommended portal to use to open a new claim.

The Internet Unemployment online claim filing system is accessible from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday Eastern Standard time. You're eligible to file as long as you've been employed in the past 18 months. There are other criteria that will determine if you will be eligible for benefits, some of which are related to information you provide that is matched against that provided by your most recent employers.

Your claim form will require your Social Security Number, driver's license, State ID number or your MARVIN (Michigan's Automated Response Voice Interactive Network) pin if you had a previous claim. If you are not a citizen or national of the United States, your Alien Registration Number and expiration date must be submitted. If you select direct deposit for your payments you will need your financial institution's routing number and your account number. A claim can take up to 45 minutes depending on how long it takes to populate the fields on the form and the speed of your internet connection. Once the form is complete and you send it, you will receive a confirmation.

Benefits won't be issued if a claimant doesn't post their resume on the Michigan Talent Bank (MTB) since one of the important stipulations of eligibility is being ready, willing and able to work. The Unemployment Insurance Agency offers debit card and direct deposit into checking and savings accounts both. Claiming weekly benefits involves calling MARVIN at assigned times or during an official make-up period on Thursday or Friday of that week.

You will be able to manage your account at the UIA claim portal. If you have acquired a physical disability in the past three years and your benefits claim is not approved due to inadequate or absence of wages in the preceding 18 months, contact 1-800-638-3995.
